Jubilee weekend

A lovely weekend so far weather-wise - much better than in London anyway!  What a shame that the weather is so wet and windy on the main Jubilee weekend.  I am sure it will all be lovely but I just feel for the people who are sat out waiting for it all to happen in the rain.  Have to admit I would much rather watch it on TV and see everything at close range and not have to be stuck in traffic, and jostled by loads of people and (as it turns out) get soaking wet and cold to boot!!

Gardening has been the activity of necessity the last few days, as everything is in full growing mode (including the weeds) so there is no peace for the wicked! The strawberries are triumphant at the moment and it seems our hard work last autum/early spring has paid off and my objective to have plenty of them (2 kilos in 2 days!) to make batches of strawberry jam is coming to fruition (literally!)

Cardmaking has also had a turn during the week, as I had some time alone when my hubbie had a quick trip back to the UK, when I could just craft to my heart's content with no interruptions and until the early hours!

I had a wedding card to make for a friend's daughter.  I used some Stardream coral pearl card from Joanna Sheen and embossed it with an embossing folder, punched the mirri paper with a Martha Stewart heart border, mounted some black and white images onto silver mirri card and used some rose covered velum from my stash for the inside.  I made another wedding card and a birthday card which are for later in the year but won't publish them on here until after the event!

Well, had better sign off for now as have some serious jam making to do next!

Thanks for popping by!
